Italy have steadily improved their performance under new manager Gattuso in their World Cup qualifiers campaign.

In a group with Norway, Estonia, Israel and Moldova, Italy looked like the favourite but football isn’t of old but who wants it more.

Israel after four games had managed to secure nine (9) points while Italy were on six (6) points.

Norway are the only team with a perfect record as it stands in group I.

The game between Israel and Italy was very crucial to the build up to who urges close to qualification and none of the teams took it lightly.

Two own goals from Locatelli and Bastoni plus two goals from Peretz gave Israel their four goals while’s Kean, Politano and Raspadori ensured Italy drew level before the 90’.

As usual of Gattuso, the screams were loud from the touch-line, his team needed to do better to have any chance of World Cup action.

Just when Israel hope it would end in a draw, Tonali showed up and in the dying minutes of the second half, he shot Italy into the lead.

Italy now sit second on the group log with 9points after four games while’s Israel sit third with 9points after five games.

Israel might still have a chance depending on the outcome of Italy’s next game but the likelihood remains slim.
