BOXING IS NOT FOR ONE PERSON — IT TAKES A TEAM says Mubarak Yusif Manor

To all boxers who sometimes feel that boxing belongs to them alone, I want to make something very clear: boxing is bigger than any one individual.

Before you become a boxer, there are people behind your journey. Your coach teaches and develops you. Your gym mates and fellow boxers train with you and push you. A matchmaker works to find opportunities and connect you to fights. A promoter creates the platform that gives you the opportunity to step into the ring.

So, never look down on anyone you meet along your boxing journey — whether it is a coach, matchmaker, promoter, official, gym mate, or another boxer.

You cannot do everything by yourself. You cannot put the gum shield in your own mouth from outside the ring. You cannot dress yourself for every situation. You cannot tape your own hands while preparing for battle. Boxing is built around people.

Today, someone may be helping you. Tomorrow, you may need that same person or someone else to open another door for you.

Respect everyone. Appreciate everyone. Never burn bridges.

Boxing is not about “me, myself and I.”
Boxing is a TEAM sport. Boxing is a COMMUNITY. Boxing is a FAMILY. 🥊

Respect the people who help you along the way, because your success is never achieved alone.
