Thomas Frank and his side received their second defeat in the EPL and their third consecutive defeats in all competitions. Arsenal Fc started with a 4-1 victory over Spurs before a humiliating 5-3 defeat to UEFA Champions League defenders Paris Saint-Germain.
Tottenham Hotspur’s were looking to bounce back against a rather aggressive side As they hosted Fulham at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium. The game was supposed to be a turning point for Spurs but turn out to be another disappointing meeting.
Spurs rather had a disappointing start as Fulham fired themselves into the lead with two quick goals.
Kenny Tete, the Fulham right back started the winning journey with a 4’ goal and before Tottenham could cough for a break, Harry Wilson scored the second in the 6’.
This was more of a nightmare than just having a couple of bad games. Former Tottenham Hotspur’s manager Ange Postecoglou at this same rate with equal games had a better win rate than Thomas Frank with all his superstars.
The trajectory of the game changed to a fruitless training session for Tottenham Hotspur who started to keep majority of possession. Fulham came back from the break leading by 0-2 and had a plan. They wanted to play a counter game allowing Spurs to come at them.
It was now 63 to 37 in percentage for Spurs yet Fulham had a better shoot-on-target rate making the possessiveness wasteful. Mohammed Kudus who has been quiet in many of their games decided to go solo in the 59’ and his long range effort yielded. It was now 1-2 with half an hour to play.
Fulham on record looked a better side as they had won three (3) and lost one (1) in their last four games before their match against Spurs.
Fulham managed to hold off the pressure from Tottenham Hotspur’s to secure their fourth win in a game where Spurs needed the win more than anything.
After thirteen (13) games, Spurs sit 12th on the league log with hopes of climbing to secure another European action next season.
