AS Monaco almost took maximum points against Pafos Fc but a late goal saw the sides sharing the spills in a game where both sides game it their all.

Pafos Fc hosted AS Monaco at the Alphamega Stadium only for Takumi Minamino to clinch an early opener for AS Monaco. This hosts were yet to settle in the game but Minamino’s 5’ opener saw them switch to attack mode.

Former Chelsea Fc and Brazilian international David Luis cancelled AS Monaco’s lead with a powerful header in the 18’ with a perfect cross from Mislav Orsic.

It was now game on as Pafos Fc looked to get a stride of what’s going on and then Folarin Balogun in the 26’ made it 2-1 for AS Monaco.

The visitors went into the break with their lead with hopes of building on it in the second half but the brilliant play from their defensive line erred when it mattered most.

Paul Pogba and Ansu Fati were both on the bench as many hoped to see if the Frenchman will get a couple of minutes as his did in the domestic league but Fati got his chance in the 76’. His addition changed a couple of options upfront and his take-on ability proved to be very useful.

AS Monaco were just wiling away the time with about three minutes left to play in normal time. In the space of two minutes, Pafos Fc has two corner kicks. The first was dealt with but the second cost them dearly.

Pepe whipped in a cross which was initially saved by Neofytos Michail but his save ricocheted off Mohammed Salisu into his net to give Pafos Fc an equaliser.

AS Monaco tried to get ahead but it was rather too late as they settled for a point in their 2-2 match.
