Fc Copenhagen clinch their first win in the UEFA Champions League after holding onto their hard fought goals against Kairat Almaty at the Parken.
The Danish side had managed a draw in their first four games and needed to change things although they were headed for elimination from the champions league.
The hosts in their bid to find their first victory went all out against Kairat Almaty who were also fighting for same.
Viktor Dadason started the victory journey for Fc Copenhagen with an opener in the 25’ giving the hosts hope of victory.
With shots flying in from both sides, Copenhagen managed to put eleven (11) across against four (4). The first half ended with the hosts holding majority of possession and their lone goal lead.
The second half almost changed the story for Fc Copenhagen after they went three (3) goals up. Jordan Larsson on the hour mark slotted one in from the spot kick after a VAR awarded penalty to make it 2-0 after which Robert added the third in the 73’.
Kairat Almaty who were down by 3-0 and chasing after the ball got some inch of courage and started playing like they had nothing to lose.
In the 81’, Satpaev pulled one back for Almaty and nine minutes later, Baybek made it 3-2 for Kairat Almaty. The visitors were hyped at this point as Fc Copenhagen looked troubled holding them off.
Egor Sorokin in the 90+6’ almost equalised for Almaty but his header effort was comfortably saved by Dominik Kotarski before centre referee Nicholas Walsh brought the entire game to an end.
