Ghana’s young tennis warriors have announced their presence with authority at the ITF/CAT 12 & Under African Junior Championships 2025 in Morocco, delivering performances filled with heart, structure, and purpose. Their journey to the tournament and the confidence with which they stepped onto court was greatly strengthened by the invaluable support of the Ghana Olympic Committee and celebrated Ghanaian artist Amoako Boafo, whose sponsorship ensured the team arrived fully prepared. His belief in the boys has become a driving force behind Ghana’s renewed ambition in junior tennis.

The campaign opened against Tanzania, where Ghana delivered a commanding 3–0 victory that immediately set the tone for their intentions in Morocco. The young team played with clarity and hunger, dismantling Tanzania with impressive discipline in both singles and doubles. That opening triumph was more than just a win, it was a declaration that Ghana had come to compete, not merely participate.

Their second outing against Burundi became the true test of character. Jefter produced a thrilling three-set performance, taking the first set 6–2 before battling through a tight 5–7 loss in the second. With admirable composure, he rebounded to dominate the final set 6–2, showcasing a maturity beyond his years. Maxwell followed with a clinical masterclass, overpowering his opponent 6–2, 6–0 in a display of precision and control that further strengthened Ghana’s grip on the tie.

The momentum carried into the doubles, where Maxwell partnered with Blessing in a seamless, assertive performance. Their 6–2, 6–2 victory sealed Ghana’s second consecutive 3–0 sweep of the tournament. These back-to-back triumphs speak to a team growing in confidence, tactical awareness, and mental sharpness qualities that reflect the improved preparation and supportive foundation behind their journey.
With two dominant wins secured, Ghana now prepares for a high-stakes encounter against Angola. The challenge ahead is significant, but the team enters it fortified by belief, unity, and the powerful backing of Amoako Boafo. In Morocco, Ghana is not simply participating in the African Junior Championships they are emerging as a rising force, carrying the hopes of a nation and signaling a bright new chapter in Ghanaian junior tennis.
