Pafos FC handed Villareal FC their second defeat in their last five (5) games when they met in the UCL. With an electrified support for the home team, Pafos FC could not disappoint.

Former Chelsea Fc defender David Luiz and David Goldar made sure to keep their lines clear in the of defence for Pafos FC as majority of the clean scoring opportunities were created by Villarreal.

The only goal that separated the side came from a corner kick in the 46’ as Ken Sema’s cross was headed home by Derrick Luckassen.

Their goal looked well rehearsed as it came from two defenders, Sema playing at Left-Back and D. Luckassen Central-Defense.

Villarreal did everything right to get an equaliser but all their efforts were met by equal counter measures. Their vast majority of possession was gradually reduced by the home team who felt confident and played like champions.

The game ended 1-0 in favour of Pafos Fc as Villarreal FC recorded their second defeat in their last five. The visitors had a percentage advantage over the home team having hit five shots on target, nine off target and four blocked.

The Yellow Submarines return to domestic action against Espanyol who will be coming into the tie with the same record of two defeats and three victories.
