Juventus are not having a good season as they had to struggle for a point against Sporting CP in their UCL tie at home.
Juventus currently sixth on the Italian Serie A had to prove they still got the fire power but started the from behind. Since the depart of Massimiliano Allegri, the signature play of Juventus has been lost.
The old Juventus would be either top of the Serie A and beating teams like Sporting CP easily but their building process is taking a toll on them.
Juventus hosted Sporting CP at the Allianz Stadium and before they could get a hold of the game, Sporting CP took the lead.
A wonderfully worked one-touch passing from the visitors landed at the back of the net as Araùjo slotted it in just 12’ into the game.
Juventus was not looking prepared for the game in the opening quarter looking at how sloppy they lost possession and track back. Francisco Trincao almost made it 0-2 for Sporting but his effort rattled the post in a sigh of relief for Spalletti.
Just when the Old Lady’s realized it would be too late for a comeback, they started to play like the champions they used to be. Serbian striker Vlohović started to prove why he remains one of the dangerous strikers out there with two efforts in 30seconds. His initial effort was a flick-on header which was saved by Rui Silva followed by a shot from outside the box which called for another save.
He finally got answers to his questions in the 34’ after Thuram took the baton from deep inside rhe Juve half to cut a diagonal pass for Vlohović to slid it in for an equaliser.
The pressure was now shifted to Sporting CP, but the Portuguese side managed their lines effectively to ensure they took a point home.
