Opinions are currently divided after the much awaited fight between Joseph Parker and Fabio Wardley. Parker who has been noted calling out Oleksandr Usyk had the opportunity to prove to the world why he is the best contender but the Ipswich Town lad got a TKO stoppage in the eleventh (11th) round.

The English boxer who has no amateur boxing record came into the fight with a plan and sticked to it through till the end. Just like Deontay Wilder, Wardley relied on his power and executed his mission.

While many scored the rounds in favour of Joseph Parker, Fabio Wardley was trying all means to find an opening for a clear power shot.

Parker took the fight a round at a time testing the chin of Wardley who was prepared to stand and exchange until a controversial call for stoppage with just one round to go.

A relentless attack from the Ipswich man in round 11 had Parker in trouble, and as he sagged on the ropes looking to recover, and even though he was avoiding some of Wardley’s attacks, Howard Foster decided that he had seen enough and halted the contest.

Wardley made a good start in the contest and had Parker buzzed in round two, but that was as good as it got for him in the early stages as Parker began to dominate the middle rounds and was pulling ahead with the judges.

Wardley after his victory over Parker had a simple message to the boxing world, “I’ve got one thing only to say. Usyk! Usyk! I believed I’m at the top. I proved I’m at the top.”

While many believe the stoppage was to quick, other believe Wardley did what he needed to secure this upset.
