Paris Saint-Germain, the defending champions of the UCL were in action against once upon a time indestructible Bayern Leverkusen and they showcased why they are the reigning champions of Europe.

Paris Saint-Germain went in early to finish the game and their efforts and pressure pain off 7’ into the match after Illia Zabarnyi got the opener. With everything going well for PSG at this moment, PSG goal scorer Zabarnyi got booked in the 24’ after a VAR check awarded Bayern Leverkusen a penalty kick.

Àlex Grimaldo took the ball but his effort to bring Leverkusen to level pegging went wide. Paris Saint-Germain still held on to their lead.

The game went from bad to interesting in the 31’ after Robert Andrich of Leverkusen got sent off following a VAR review, not long after Leverkusen were reduced to ten (10) men, Illia Zabarnyi who got his initial booking in the 24’ received his second booking in the 37’ to level the man advantage PSG would have enjoyed.

This did not change the stance of PSG who were determined to continue showcasing their dominance after picking a win over Fc Barca in their previous UCL tie.

Désiré Doué who was tipped alongside Dembele to win the Balon d’Or made it to 2-0 for PSG in the 41’ and with second on the clock to end the first half, Khvicha Kvaratskhelia who gave the assist for PSG’s second goal netted the third. Doué who was hungry for more added his second and fourth for PSG in the 45+3’ before the Jesus Gil blew his whistle to end the first half.

Bayern Leverkusen had lots of work to do at this point going into the break but PSG looked like a bigger fish for them to catch.

The return to action was nothing new to starter PSG as they needed five (5) minutes into the second half to added another goal. Nuno Mendes who remains one of the finest left-backs in the world currently added the fifth with an assist from fellow countryman Vitinha.

Grimaldo who had the only goal for Bayern Leverkusen linked up with Alexis Garcia in the 54’ to make it 2-5 for Bayern Leverkusen but that wasn’t enough.

Mr. Balon d’Or came in as a sub in the 63’ and made a quick impact as he added the sixth goal for PSG in the 66’. It was already a done deal game for the visitors but they showed no mercy as Vitinha went for a last minute ride to make it 2-7 in the 90’.
