One would say Benfic Awere just not lucky as Dodi Lukébakio struck the Newcastle post more than twice while some of his efforts called for spectacular saves from Nick Pope.

Harvey Barnes became a super sub for Newcastle United after coming on for Jacob Murphy in the 63’. Minutes after coming on, Nick Pope sent a long one to the Benfica goal area which turned to an assist for Barnes to record his first goal in the 70’.

He added his second and the third for Newcastle United in the 83’ after a little dribbling brilliance from Anthony Gordon set Barnes up where he placed the ball through the legs of Anatoliy Trubin.

It was a devastating moment for Jose Mourinho whose return to England for the second time resulted in a worse defeat than to his former club Chelsea Fc.
