In a rare and inspiring meeting between art and sport, celebrated Ghanaian contemporary artist Amoako Boafo welcomed veteran sports journalist and President of the Sports Writers Association of Ghana (SWAG), Mr. Kwabena Yeboah, to his newly built backyard clay court, regarded as one of the finest private tennis courts in the country.

The visit formed part of Mr. Yeboah’s outreach ahead of the SWAG Sports Journalists Jubilee Awards Night, during which he personally extended an invitation to Amoako Boafo to attend the landmark celebration marking 50 years of sports journalism excellence in Ghana.

After warm pleasantries, the meeting took on a lively twist as both gentlemen took to the court for a friendly doubles match. Amoako Boafo, who is an avid tennis lover, paired with Mr. Mills from the Accra Lawn Tennis Club, while Mr. Yeboah partnered with Richmond Armah, who works closely with Boafo. The match was played in great spirit, filled with laughter, energy, and a wonderful display of sportsmanship and camaraderie.

Following the match, Amoako Boafo and Mr. Yeboah held a private discussion, reflecting on their shared admiration for excellence, creativity, and dedication, values that connect both art and sport. They parted ways beautifully, with mutual respect and warmth, sealing a memorable encounter that perfectly bridged the worlds of art and athletics.
