The English Premier League remains one f the most competitive yet unpredictable when it comes to match day action.
While struggling Manchester United were busy breaking their curse at Anfield against heavy spenders Liverpool Fc, Tottenham Hotspur’s were suffering their own fate against a poised Aston Villa.
The Tottenham Hotspur Stadium erupted in cheer in the early minutes of the match between Spurs and Aston Villa but suddenly grew quiet as things went negative for the club.
The game started with lost of promise from the home side after a quick fire up in the fifth minute.
Mohammed Kudus sent a cross into the opposition box which found Palhinha, he headed it back into a perfect scoring position for Rodrigo Bentancur who placed it past Vicario in the 5’ for a Spurs opener.
Villa were not going to sit around while Spurs pushed them around as they staged a comeback of their own. Rodgers in the 37’ delivered a thunderous strike to sure an equaliser for Villa. It was game on now.
Tottenham Hotspur’s were eager after Aston Villa’s equaliser and started to double up in their push for a lead. While’s shots flew in, a shout for a penalty by Tottenham Hotspur’s was declined by Simon Hooper gesturing that Konsa had his hands on his chest.
Spurs did everything right but Emiliano Martinez was up to the task with some incredible saves.
Emiliano Buendia who came on as a sub in the 61’ was the one to get the decider in the 77’ after finding himself in the right spot at the right time. A long pass from inside the Villa half found Lucas Digne at the edge of the Spurs box where his pass to Buendia brewed the magic they were looking for.
The possession of the game changed from there as Spurs pushed forward with everything they had hoping for at least a point against Villa but their efforts were equally matched.
Game ended 1-2 for Spurs first defeat in their last five games.
