Tottenham Hotspur’s after drawing against Wolves went on to a scary UCL game against Bodoe/Glimt where a late ‘OG’ secured them a split decision with a minute to go on the clock.
Tottenham Hotspur’s have managed to hold on to a win after two draws against Wolves and Bodoe/Glimt. Their return from UCL action meant results as Thomas Frank needed to get his side ready before going into the international break.
With hope of making an impact in the UCL and a possible top four position in the EPL Spurs needed to change their approach and mentality going into games and that worked perfectly for them against Leeds United whose struggle continues.
Leeds United in their last four game recorded two (2) draws, one win and a loss before coming into their tie against Tottenham Hotspur’s.
With Spurs conceding goals in their last two games, it sent a clear message to Leeds United whose struggle continues needed to get things running.
The game started at Elland Road Leeds United started with urgency. Coming close to an opener in the 6th minute when a free-kick was sent but the headed effort rammed the bar. A great let off for Spurs but the visitors rattled the crowd with an opener in the 23’ after Mathys Tel’s solo effort, carrying ball from the centre of the pitch to deliver a stunner for the lead.
In the 33rd minute, Brenden Aaronson struck one for goal but was saved by vicario who parried clearance only fell to Noah Okafor who tapped it in calmly for a Leeds equaliser.
It was never a dull game between Leeds and Spurs who threw everything at each other trying to find a winner. Both teams created series of 50-50 chances but their goalkeepers were up to the task.
Mohammed Kudus who was a constant threat to the Leeds United defence finally had his chance at goal and he did it perfectly with the ‘Mbappe trickery’.
While most left-footed players will cut in and curl the ball to the wider area, Kudus decided to do the opposite. After making room to shoot to the far side, Mohammed Kudus chose the near side where a slight deflection made it more difficult for Karl Darlow to react.
His iconic celebration meant more than what they had to do next on the pitch and Spurs managed to hold on to their lead till the end of proceedings.
