It wasn’t just a game of class but persistence from a player who continues to give his all no matter where he finds himself.

From Los Angeles Fc to Lille, French international striker Olivier Giroud has proven to be one player you can’t write off.

Lille hosted Brann in their UEFA Europa league tie and just when Brann thought they would be sharing the spills with the hosts, Giroud showed up and won it for Lille.

The game started with Giroud on the bench with little to no activity in the first half. Although both sides made some positive impacts in front of goal, no one broke the deadlock until the second half.

Hamza Igamane gave Lille the opener in the 54’ while his side were still holding majority of possession but their lead was short lived as their joyous destruction caused them minutes after.

Saevar Atli Magnusson in the 60’ equalised for Brann before Olivier Giroud got his chance of action after being subbed on for Lille goal scorer Igamane.

The sides were levelled, the game was steady and the cheerful crowd expectant.

Brann would have loved to hold on to their point against Lille away from home but Olivier Giroud who always shows up changed the whole story in the 80’ after heading Lille into a 2-1 lead.

With ten (10) minutes left to play, both sides made two changes with Lille boss seeking to stabilise his team while Brann boss looked to find an equaliser but Lille were up for the task as they saw their 2-1 lead through to the final whistle.
