Nottingham Forest were on the verge of winning their first game under Ange Postecoglou but ended up sharing the spoils in the later minutes of the game.
Burnley hosted struggling Nottingham Forest at the Turf Moore and almost recorded their first win under new manager Postecoglou. The new manager is already facing his own pressure after being crashed out of the EFlL cup by Swansea City.
Like their previous games, Nottingham Forest started with a statement after a lose corner kick in the opening two minutes turned into what would have been for them.
Nico Williams, the Forest right back in the 2’ pounced on a lose ball from a corner kick and drove it into the right button corner of the Burnley post.
The game was a 50-50 from then on as both teams started to create decent chances. Matz Sels was the one called to action on many occasions with Burnley rocking the goal post a couple of times.
Loum Tchaouna was a constant threat to the L Nottingham Forest defence and minutes after the visitors took the lead, Burnley broke even.
In the 20’, Lyle Foster directed a shot at Matz Sels post after a defensive blander, Oleksandr Zinchenko who found himself in the mix tried a goal-line clearance but his effort rather helped the already goal bound ball into the net.
Nottingham Forest were stunned and needed to create something productive but their efforts were neutralised by the hosts throughout the game.
Forest after holding 63% of possession had to settle for the 1-1 draw away to Burnley and their second draw in their last five games.
