The current English Premier League champions Liverpool have started the campaign winning their first five games to remain top of the table.

Although many have started to question the tactical prowess of Arne Slot, it is evident that he has always found a way to produce the results and that is more important.

Derby over the decades have been very special as it did not matter the current for of the two sides. Liverpool vs Everton have always produced on of the good derbies and this EPL fixture was nothing short of same.

The Reds started is safe but turned up the heat in the early minutes to make a statement as current champions of the EPL.

The Reds has majority of possession but Everton made it difficult for them to move it around with their pressing. The first half ended with Liverpool holding on to a 2-0 lead but the second half was a different story.

Everton in the second half started to make moves looking to salvage a point and their efforts started to pay off.

A lose ball from an Everton cross was pulled back by Lliman Ndiaye for Idrissa Gana Gueye who lashed in into the top of the Liverpool Fc net.

It was game on at Anfield but Liverpool weren’t ready to drop point rather committed a couple of tactical fouls to keep the game in their reach till the end.

Match ended 2-1 in favour of Liverpool as Everton continue to build with same point the likes of Manchester City, Manchester United and Leeds United.
