Liverpool’s last dance in the dying minutes gave them the win over Spanish side Atletico Madrid in their UCL match.

Liverpool Fc welcomed Atletico Madrid to the Anfield Stadium in an epic clash that always ended in a stalemate.

Liverpool Fc started the game with urgency and determination to end things fast in the first quarter and they succeeded with a little push at the end.

Andy Robertson gave the Reds and an early lead with his goal in the 4’ before Mohammed Salah added to his tally two minutes after to make matters difficult for the visitors.

Liverpool almost had a chance to make it three in the 36’ after a penalty appeal was requested but after minutes of checks, VAR overturned the penalty.

Liverpool could have gone into the break with a 2-0 lead but a sloppy play from the defensive line cost them when Marcos Llorente smashed one in to reduce their tally to 2-1.

The second half started with both teams making lots of changes which affected play for both sides.

Llorente recorded a brace in the 81’ minute to bring the scoreline to 2-2. It was a now or never game for both sides but Liverpool who won it late in their last EPL game via a Salah penalty started to push for a winner.

The normal time was up and centre referee Maurizio Mariani added 3’ to play and the tension it produced shows how significant the game was to both sides.

Virgil Van Dijk rose to the occasion in the 90+2’ with a stunning header to give Liverpool a 3-2 lead. Dramatic Diego Simone burst out with fury sighting why the referee was playing more than the added time.

He was sent off with a red card while his team lost by 3-2
