Norway is writing their own national history after a disrespectful win over Moldova in their World Cup qualifier match.
The Guinness book of records hold world record of 149-0 as the highest scoreline in any association football match but today it’s about national team history.
Australia set their own record after defeating American Samoa by 31-0 while’s France defeated Gibraltar by 14-0 in 2023.
Norway hosted Moldova in their match day five and even though the outcome was predictable, no one would have thought of the margin.
Already leading the group with 12 points ahead of Italy on 9 points, Norway just needed any form of win to increase their chances of representing at the World Cup and they did so emphatically.
Myhre started with an opener in the 6’ and minutes from the opener, Manchester City goal machine Haaland took the baton to record a hat-trick (11’, 36’ and 43’)
The game was gradually becoming a training session as Moldova were struggling to even string three passes together.
Arsenal skipper Ødegaard added one in the 45+1 to make it 5-0 for Norway before going into the break.
Haaland returned to work from the break to take his tally to four goals in the 52’ before handing over to Aasgaard who also scored four goals on the night.
Moldova momentary pressure ended up with Norway gifting them a goal as Østigård scored an own-goal in the 74’.
Haaland scores five (5) goals on the night, Aasgaard recorded four (4) goals while’s Ødegaard and Myhre’s two saw Norway trashing Moldova by 11-1.
