Bryan Mbeumo rewrites his story following his Penalty miss in the EFL cup that saw Manchester United bow out.

In the game where Bruno Fernandez and Mbeumo both missed a spot-kick, the duo gave face to Amorim who has been under heavy criticism following their dip in wins than performance.

Manchester United played Burnley at the Old Trafford Stadium and had one aim which is to record a win no matter what. Ruben Amorim already knows he is next on the chopping board and needs his team to start winning.

The game started with lots of urgency from Manchester United and it was understandable.

This was their third EPL fixture after managing a single point in the first two and things needed to change, thankfully Cullen from Burnley started the breakthrough for Manchester United after an own goal in the 27’. The lone goal was enough for the first half but the return in the second half was where the Amtrak action unfolded.

10’ into the second half, Burnley got an equaliser through Foster and unlike the former Man. United team, they did not hold back but went all out.

Bryan Mbeumo who started the comeback against Grimsby was at the helm of affairs as he struck United into the lead again two minutes after Foster’s equaliser.

Many Manchester United fans and supporters were in agitation, could their team hold on to this lead?

Anthony decided to take Man. United through another headache after drawing his team to level pegging in the 66’ minute.

This is where Ruben Amorim and his team maintained their composure and exerted a new force of energy to go at Burnley with the aim of claiming all three (3) points.

In the 90+7 minute, Manchester United’s persistence won them a penalty kick and Bruno Fernandez whose last open play spot-kick was skied took to the centre. The fate of Manchester United against Burnley rested on his individual shoulders and this time around he didn’t disappoint.

The roar by the United fans spoke volumes, the face of Amorim instantly lightened up, he had been saved by the bell. He was saved by the last kick of skipper. Bruno Fernandez
