Many called it luck, many term it controversy, but the VAR decision following Fulham’s goal against Chelsea Fc was a motivating factor for the Club world champions to rise to the occasion.

Chelsea Fc hosted a fierce Fulham at the Stamford Bridge for their third EPL game and it sure wasn’t going to be easy following the current form of both teams.

Chelsea new signee Liam Delap suffered a hamstring injury in the 14’ to be replaced by Tyrique George and seven (7) minutes later Chelsea conceded a goal.

19year old Joshua King had scored what would have been his first Fulham goal but after a series of checks, the goal was disallowed sighting a foul on Trevor Challobah leading to the goal. As many argue it wasn’t a foul, that VAR decision gave the world champions an urge to improvise.

João Pedro who has been a powerhouse since joining Chelsea Fc broke the deadlock for the Blues in the added time of the first half (45+9).

He has always shown up when needed and this was one of the moments. Chelsea Fc who were trailing on possession in the early minutes of the game overturned all stats to their favour.

VAR came to play again in the 56’ after a call for a penalty check. Chelsea Fc were awarded a spotkick which got converted by Enzo Fernandez to give Chelsea a 2-0 lead at the Bridge.

Fulham came into the game with a draw from Manchester United and hoped to cause another upset against Chelsea Fc but Maresca and his team saw through the lines to cut them off in their own lines.
