The current European Champions Paris Saint-Germain have played one of the best football in the buildup to this CWC finals and that is highly commendable.

Starting their journey against Atletico Madrid in a 4-0 trashing, PSG lost to Botafogo FR, the South American team and many thought the tournament favourites were done for but they bounced back in style after sealing it off with a win against Seattles Sounders Fc.

PSG faced Messi’s Inter Miami in the knockout stages and many predicted an upset as Messi had helped his side beat Fc Porto after a stunning free-kick but the things took a sour turn for the former PSG player.

Messi’s side tried to compete but PSG at the CWC were just on another level. Neves, Aviles (OG) and Hakimi’s goals were enough to see the Paris based team progress to the next stage.

The beauty of the game was not on the pitch but backstage when all the PSG players and even management had a warm chat with their former star Lionel Messi.

They played against Bayern Munich and that was a game Gianluigi Donnarumma will never forget. After holding PSG to a goalless draw in the first half, the European champions turned on the heat and Bayern Munich could not handle it Désiré Doué and Ousmane Dembélé were the scorers of the two goals in that game.

Jamal Musiala who was having a wonderful game picked up a career threatening injury after going into a 50-50 challenge against Donnarumma, this resulted in the German twisting his ankle in a situation where many could not understand.

Donnarumma was devastated, the look on his face said it all but it is part of football.

Xabi Alonso’s Real Madrid were yet to face any real challenge in the CWC and they were finally presented one in Paris Saint-Germain who were on a rampage. It was a hard one to call but football called it quick on the pitch.

In the space of 25minutes, Paris Saint-Germain were up by 3-0, Alonso was confused on the touchline. Antonio Rudiger and Raul Asencio were not up to the task against the like of Ruiz and Dembélé who were all over the Madrid defence.

Gonçalo Ramos who came on as a sub for Dembélé added the fourth goal to end the journey for Real Madrid. It was another PSG star brushed aside in the CWC.

The final is set, Chelsea face Paris Saint-Germain for the CWC title and many have started calling for Chelsea to forfeited looking at how PSG is playing and dictating the tournament, many have also said Chelsea might cause an upset but looking at statistics, PSG remain favourites looking at the teams they went through to get to the final as against Chelsea.
