The FIFA Club World Cup has recorded little to no serious injury until the meeting between Paris Saint-Germain the reigning European champions and German champions Bayern Munich.

The game that promised to be full of fun and excitement turned out to be one that would keep PSG goalkeeper Donnarumma is a state of trauma for a long time after his attempted save for a 50-50 ball ended in causing a career threatening injury to fellow player.

Jamal Musiala has been one of the best playmakers for Bayern Munich and even though they lost to Paris Saint-Germain by 2-0 in the CWC quarterfinals, he was still a standout player until his injury.

The shock and agony of the face of the players who saw the injury tells it all.
Jamal Musiala become the third player in recent times to have suffered such an injury after players like Neymar Jnr and Andre Gomez formerly of Everton.

As many players have wished him well during his recovery and surgery, Germany and Bayern Munich goalkeeper Manuel Neuer had this to say. “It was a situation where you don’t have to go in like that. That’s risk-taking. He was prepared to accept the risk of injuring his opponent. I went to him and said, ‘Don’t you want to go and see our player?’ It’s a matter of respect, of going there and wishing the guy all the best. He then did it. Fairplay is always a part of it. I would have reacted differently.”
