The UEFA Champions league has been the yardstick to determine the best in Europe and we currently know who the rulers are.
Paris Saint-Germain faced Internationale Milan in the UEFA Champions league final in Munich and the aftermath has left many wondering whether it was this same Inter Milan team that played Fc Barcelona.
The journeys of the two teams had not been easy, it was one to admire and whoever won the title sure deserved it.
Paris Saint-Germain had to battle Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal who beat Real Madrid in their two leg tie while Internationale Milan prevented another noise pollution after drawing against Fc Barca in their first leg before shocking the world with a 4-3 victory over same in their second leg.
The final was difficult to predict, especially with this kind of scoreline since both teams showcased class and determination throughout their journey to the final.
Munich was lit, the crowds were anxious, Parisians were hungry to get a feel of the prestigious European trophy but Internationale Milan was in their way.
Kick-off and Paris Saint-Germain started to torment Inter Milan with little to no respect. They wanted to prove a point, they have been there and lost it so this was a time to change their fate.
Achraf Hakimi Mouh in the 12th minute broke the deadlock for eager Parisians and the roar from the crowd surely spelt their unparalleled excitements. It was a game of pace from the young team Lius Enrique had put together and the like of Dimarco and Denzel Dumfries of Inter Milan were struggling to keep up the pace.
Désiré Nonka-Maho Doué who didn’t want to be lost in the action saw another chance in the 20th minute and made good use of it. With Dimarco finding himself in the wrong spot yet again, Doué shot deflected on his ankle to swerve Yann Sommer for Paris Saint-Germain’s second goal.
Inter Milan were just clueless at this time, they needed a break to readjust but PSG kept coming at them before the break.
The real humiliation continued in the second half, Paris Saint-Germain went to the break with a 2-0 lead and returned more hungry for success. They didn’t look like stopping at anytime as they continued to push Inter Milan to their core.
Désiré Nonka-Maho Doué in the 63rd minute added the third goal for PSG and his brace for the night. It was becoming clear who was going to win the cup as nothing seemed to be working for Inter Milan. The club that saved the world from unnecessary comparison were being humiliated by Lius Enrique’s boy.
At this point, all Inter Milan wanted was for the game to end but PSG wanted to prove a point to the world, they didn’t just want to win but needed to win convincingly.
Kvaratskhelia added to the tally ten minutes after Doué’s goal to make it 4-0 for Paris Saint-Germain. At this time Inter Milan had conceded defeat, the demeanour of the players told the entire story. Their fighting power had been drained by the youthful and energetic Parisians.
With all hope lost and Inter Milan hoping to end the day with their 4 goal deficit, Paris Saint-Germain were planning a desert for the final meal.
Mayulu in the 86th minute added the 5th goal for Paris Saint-Germain to make this UCL final one of the ‘no contest finals’ in the decade.
The last time any team lost in the UCL final was a 4-1 lost between Juventus and Real Madrid and now Internationale Milan have changed the story for the Italian old ladies.
