The French Ligue 1 has been one of the leagues in Europe that is easily called from the start and surely ends as predicted. Paris Saint-Germain has been one of the formidable teams in the French league and continue to hold that prestige over the other teams.
As usual, Paris Saint-Germain were crowned champions whiles Marseille and AS Monaco followed in second and third place respectively.
The main trouble in the French Ligue 1 was the struggle for survival and it included the likes of Montpellier, Saint-Etienne, Reims and Le Havre.
Montpellier were already relegated after managing sixteen (16) points after 34 games, Sain-Etienne on thirty (30) and Le Havre on thirty one (1) going into their last games.
Le Havre were on the verge on being eliminated and had to go all out against Strasbourg in the last game and it was nothing close to the most epic game of the Ligue.
Ghanaian internationl and former skipper of the Ghana Black Stars Andre Morgan Ayew was part of this historic fight for survival.
Strasbourg who went into the game holding the seventh (7th) spot on the league log had the chance of playing in the European competitions as they needed three points to tally that of Nice and Lille who place 4th and 5th accumulating 60 points each.
The hosts started the game as would expect, they gave the visitors a ride for their money after breaking the deadlock in the 20th minute after Andrey Santos’s goal. The dreams of survival seemed to be stumbling for Le Havre until a reckless challenge saw the visitors being awarded a penalty kick, Abdoulaye Toure stepped up and slotted the ball into the net to bring side level. The first half ended with both sided netting once.

The second half started in the same fashion as the first as Strasbourg started to push Le Havre deep into their half, eight (8) minutes into the second half, Sebastian Nanasi found the back of the net to give Strasbourg their second goal.
The egde of relegation was dawning on Le Havre who started the league in awesome spirit and they needed to act fast with the countdown on race.
Josue Casimir who had been knocking on the goal of Strasbourg finally got rewarded in the 70th minute after connecting to an assist from Issa Soumare to level pegging for his side.

A point from Strasbourg wouldn’t be enough to escape relegation and Le Havre who had to give it their all or crumble out took the first option.
It was all over, many Le Havre supporters started leaving the stadium, their side would be relegated, they were in despair thinking how close they were to make it but when it mattered the most, the never say die spirit kicked in and Le Havre charged for the last time, they gave it their all, 90mins had been played, it was additional time now, 8mins gone would there be a miracle?
Andrew Omobamidele came on as a sub in the 88th minute, got booked in the 90+5minute and after three minutes he was sent off. The hosts started making gestures asking the referee to end proceedings but he paid no attention to it, a minute after the hosts were awarded their second spot kick of the night.
These are tense moments in football for any player, score to secure you team qualification and just when many were in the state of what will happen, Abdoulaye Toure stepped up yet again.
He looked calm and composed, he was so confident and understood the assignment, he lifted his eyes and looked at Dorďe Petrović and with a smile he smashed the ball into the next.
Le Havre had made, they secured the league spot. It was all jubilations, fans returned and started shouting. It was a miracle that was meant to happen and it was through Toure who ignored all negative energy.
