The UEFA champions league has been an interesting one this season following the suspense and format it followed.
The new model confused majority of people but while it drew closer, it became quiet clear how it worked. Teams like Real Madrid, Liverpool, Manchester City, Bayern Munich who were tipped for glory all lagged while Arsenal, Barcelona, International Milan, Paris Saint-Germain took the tournament by it horns.
Arsenal have been impressive in the UEFA Champions league and the English Premier league to the extent they were tipped to be one of the favourites.
Beating Real Madrid in the two ties of their meeting, Arsenal was in poll position to target the ultimate until they met the French side who have equally been impressive under coach Luis Enrique.
The former Barcelona coach since taking over Paris Saint-Germain has injected some sense of urgency into the team. His believe in the young lads also played a massive role in their achievement.
Arsenal after beating Real Madrid were tipped by many to will win the UEFA Champions league until they met a team that needed to prove to the world that they are worthy.
Paris Siant-Germain were hosted at the Emirates Stadium in North London for their first UCL tie against Arsenal and it was a different ball game all together, Arsenal who were so impressive against looked lost against Paris Saint-Germain.
Osman Dembele punished them on their own turf with his lone goal going into the second leg. Many pandits and sports analysts tipped Arsenal to overturn the results while others have tipped PGS to win the ultimate.
The game started with Paris Saint-Germain holding on to their goal advantage and yet looking more hungry to play.
Arsenal needed two goal to proceed to the final while PSG needed a draw. I was supposed to be a game of chess but Paris Saint-Germain were not going to sit around and be surprised. They took the game to Arsenal and in the 27th minute, Fabián Ruiz gave PSG the opener, it was not a two goal advantage and Arsenal needed three goals to reach the UCL final.
The hosts were comfortable and still playing as they started, the first half ended with PSG holding on to their two goal advantage and in the second half, Vitinha had the chance to make it two for Arsenal in the 69th minute after being awarded a penalty kick following a VAR check but missed, that never stopped the hosts. They picked face and increased the tally after Achraf Hakimi curled one from inside the 18yard box.

It was all over for Arsenal as they now needed three goals to proceed to the next stage. It was a tough one for Mikel Arteta and his team.
In the 76th minute, Bukayo Saka drew one back for Arsenal but it was just enough to serve as a consolation goal. Arsenal lost 2-1 on the night against Paris Saint-Germain and 3-1 on aggregate.

Internationale Milan now face Paris Saint-Germain in the UCL final.
