Boxing hit the streets of Times Square New York and it was a fight week that hosted one of the best pairs who have boasted of being the best for years. The event which featured Haney, Garcia, Romero, Ramirez, Canelo among others delivered one of boxing upsets of the year.
Ryan Garcia had been out of the ring for a year but always posted on his social media handle of his training and how he was keeping in shape for the future after his sanction. Ryan Garcia knocked out Devin Haney after which it was found he was under the influence of performance drug which got him banned for more than a year.
His return was one of the happiest moments for his fans who thought he will come back better and ready for the ring but Ryan ‘King’ Garcia had a very bad day in the market on his return.
The fight which was in the middle of the Times Square street became the biggest event of the night after Haney won his fight against Ramirez but what got people talking is how Romero managed Garcia throughout the fight.
The first round of the right was relatively very slow considering the fighters and how they go about their business. Ryan Garcia who always boasted of his speed was managed by Rolly’s command after he slowed the pace of the fight to suit his style.
Ryan who had a height and reach advantage was locked in his circle, he wasn’t making use of his jabs while Rolly utilised his muscle power throughout the round.
Everything changed in the second round when Romero realises he can open Ryan up. 2:46minutes into the second round, Rolly with a double left hock right to the chin followed by a straight hook floored Ryan Garcia and the supporters could not stop screaming.
Ryan was stunned, his facial expression sold him out. It was now a fight to chase but Romero kept controlling the pace of the game while Ryan Garcia failed to utilise his advantage.

Inactivity on the part of Ryan Garcia gave Romero the edge as he continued to win the fight by the round.
The fight went its full length and Rolly Romero at the end won by unanimous decision. Garcia after his anticipated loss had this to say,
“Rolly fought a good fight, he caught me early no excuses, congrats to him after doing a great job and that is that. I just think that whole year took a lot from my body, physically, mentally, I’am just happy that made it to the ring and went 12-rounds, thank God for the opportunity. I wanna thank Jesus Christ in my loses and wins and heads off to Rolly he did a great job. I usually go to the drawing board with my team we talk it over and see what we do next.”
These were sincere comments from ‘King Ryan’ after congratulating Rolly Romero for his dominant win.
Right after Rolly took to the centre and assured his supporters and boxing lovers that he is ever ready for whoever wants to try him.
“I know Ryan would want a rematch and I will be ever ready cus that will be a great fight. I am still open to any fighter who wants to get a bit of me. I never stop training, will continue to shape up for whats next.” said Rolly.
