The Continental Club Masters, Accra Hearts of Oak and their fierce rivals Krobea Kumasi Asante Kotoko have undoubtably been two of the most successful teams in Ghana and have commanded some respect for years.
Accra Hearts of Oak and Kumasi Asante Kotoko have equally given their respective fans more than just the joy that comes with football but excitement of supporting and getting results.
The El Classico has been attributed to Real Madrid and Fc Barcelona in the Spanish league just as Ghana has a super clash which features Accra Hearts of Oak and Kumasi Asante Kotoko.
Over the years, these two teams have been distinctive from the other Ghana premier league clubs in terms of performance and the quality of players they could sign but things have changed drastically.
In recent times, these two giants in the Ghana premier league have suffered to maintain majority of their star players while others refuse a renewal of their contracts.
This has seen the teams lose face with the supporters and the super clash.
Kumasi Asante Kotoko recently sacked their coach Dr. Prosper Nertey Ogum who had won them a league title but failed to give them consistent games in all competitions. Accra Hearts of Oak on the other hand have been suffering with adjusting to their new coach Mr. Abubakar Ouattara whose performance has been marred by series of flops.
The super clash which saw many supporters flooding the streets of who was hosting the game has suddenly turned into a normal subtile event with little to no noise by supporters.
A reporter from our outfit went out to conduct a survey with the aim of determining how eager people were for the clash which is on the 4th of May 2025 at the Accra Sports Stadium and surprisingly, 12 out of 20 people he spoke to disclosed they would not waste their money on tickets to go and watch any mediocre game.
The media have tried to make lots of engagements to bring the game to speed and inform fans of what their support means to such an important game for the Ghana premier league and also football in general.
Accra Hearts of Oak and Kumasi Asante Kotoko are set to showcase another act of rivalry in the Ghana premier league super clash on the 4th May 2025 and urge supporters to grab their tickets in numbers to come and support their respective teams with a promise of an exciting display of soccer and skills.
