The build up to the super clash between Accra Hearts of Oak and Kumasi Asante Kotoko has got a crop of people talking about how quiet this clash which is supposed to be a supper clash has been.

In the wake of event, current Director of COCOBOD Ghana and Executive Council Member of the Ghana football association has been caught in the crossfire.

Journalists around the country have tried in their own capacities to make this super clash sell out there while other media houses have granted interviews to allow members of the respective teams talk about the game but the effort seems not to have reached the masses including the EXCO. member whose comment has drawn people to think he is trying to tarnish the hard fight to project the game.

The game between the two most rivalled teams in the Ghana premier league is set for less than 48hrs and Hon. Randy Abbey set the media ablaze after claiming he had no idea the game was to be played on Sunday.

In his statement, Hon. Abbey stated, “I don’t even know about the game. To be honest, I knew there was a Hearts-Kotoko game but I didn’t know it was this Sunday.”

This comment has got many questioning whether he is still an EXCO. member and why he is not fully informed of when the match will be played.

A fan of the game, Krobea Asante after reading Hon. Abbey’s statement about his ignorance of the game shared his opinion.

“Many are not seeing the negative part of what Mr. Randy said here, and I take it from a different perspective.

Remember, he’s an EXCO member , Ghana football management member of course, and still holds his position (s) so far as Ghana football is concerned.

In fact, this is not a good one from him in my opinion, respectfully. Imagine Jorge Fernandez of La Liga saying he has no idea about Barcelona -Madrid clasico game which is to be played in less than 48hrs.

A member of the competition’s governing body should do well to loud the product in every space, protecting the image of the competition, as well as promoting it.

At that material moment, whoever listened or watched him spewing this may have a change of mind to even attend the match or pay utmost attention to the league….one may say, even Mr. Randy, who’s an EXCO member does not even know of the so-called Super Clash and you expect me to go and pay money to watch what.

Imagine company A or B considering sponsoring the product and later hearing this from a governing member….it clearly suggests that the owner of the product does not even regard or know what it entails.

Finally, from all indications, I’m tempted to believe that Mr .Randy Abbey is more focused on Cocobod than our football (GPL precisely).”

The opinion of Krobea Asante seems to be directed at Hon. Abbey helping to project the game on his platforms rather than discounting it.

Many have also suggested Hon. Abbey as a media personality knows his way around selling to the media space and that was through negative energy and that is exactly what he had done.
