World Rugby has published the permutations for the women’s rankings this week in its preview.
World Rugby has published the ranking permutations for this weekend’s Pacific Four Series 2025 opener and one-off test between Fiji and Australia in Suva.
Permutation highlights:
- Neither Canada nor Australia can improve their rating with wins this weekend as they are playing teams in USA and Fiji, respectively, who are ranked significantly lower than them.
- However, a first defeat since 2019 against a side whose rating is 17.11 points lower would see Canada drop below New Zealand into third place.
- A draw would also see Canada surrender second place to the world champions.
- USA can gain as many as three points for a victory in the Pacific Four Series 2025 opener, but that won’t be enough to climb higher than ninth as the Women’s Eagles would still trail Italy above by 0.03 rating points.
- Fiji will match their all-time high of 14th if they beat Australia for the first time, climbing above the Netherlands and Samoa.
- Australia will slip below Scotland in defeat, and also Italy if the margin is more than 15 points.
- The Wallaroos will retain sixth place if they are held to a draw.
