Cristiano Ronaldo has been one such footballer who has been seen attending many impact sports for the love of the game and also his keen interest in some of the fighters who he has personally named his friends.
Francis Nganou has had Cristiano Ronaldo at his ringside for many of his fights and today in the fight between Chris Eubank Jnr. and Conor Benn, English professional football stars Marcus Rashford who currently plays for Aston Villa and Declan Rice who play for Arsenal were in attendance as they were captured by the lens of SkySport.
The fight which was a grudge fight lived to expectations and the looks on the faces of these two professional footballers could translate their excitement of how the entire fight was going.
The fight was power packed right from the beginning and traveled through the length. Conor Benn who was the smaller boxer showed some incredible pace that kept going and improving in every round, Eubank Jnr. who promised to end things in the early rounds had to dig deep into the fight as Benn made sure he had a fight of his life.
The two boxers exchanged punches and irrespective of Eubank’s reach advantage, Benn found means to counter his long hard hitting jabs.
After the long wait and fans wishing the fight goes to 20-rounds, it all came to an end, no boxer lost on the night according to fans. It was a fight of courage and show of strength.
The fight which did not end in the fourth round as promised by Eubank Jnr. had to be decided by the score cards and with many rounds very difficult to call for any boxer, it was assumed by name spectators and even some unofficial scorecards that it should be a draw.
The surprise to spectators and fans of the two boxers came when the fight was decided by a unanimous decision in favour of Chris Eubank Jnr. who won on all three cards by 116-112, 116-112, 116-112.
The disappointment on the face of Conor Benn was so immense, he knew he had clinched the win with his craftsmanship on the night, trading punches and coming in hard at Eubank but the judges saw something different.
Irrespective of him accepting the decision of the judges, Conor Benn attributed his loss to inactivity and promises a more fierce fight should they reach an agreement for a rematch.
