The Ghana Hockey Association extends goodwill message to the immediate past and current president of the association as they contest for positions in the upcoming GOC elections.
The message of five paragraphs read.
“The Executive Board and Members of the Ghana Hockey Association (GHA) extend their well wishes to Mr. Richard Akpokavie (Immediate Past President and Executive Committee Member of GHA) and Dr. Ben K. D. Asante (Current President of GHA) as they contest the positions of President and Executive Committee Member of the Ghana Olympic Committee (GOC), respectively.

Mr. Akpokavie was a distinguished National hockey player and captain and served several years on the GHA as a member, Vice president, and President. He is currently on the Executive Committee of the African Hockey Federation and the Ghana Hockey Association as well as FIH Technical Officials Committee. He also served as Secretary General of the GOC for 8 years.
Dr. Ben. K. D. Asante was also a distinguished hockey player for the National hockey team for several years and has been president of the Ghana Hockey over the past 6 years and a great supporter of sports events and projects for several federations over the last 8years.
The Ghana Hockey Association believes that when elected, these gentlemen will bring their enormous and rich experience as sports administrators and corporate leaders to make the Olympic family stronger and better.
The Ghana Hockey Association wishes their nominees, Mr. Richard Akpokavie and Dr. Ben K. D. Asante well and urges all federations and delegates to vote for them for a better and more united Ghana Olympic Committee.”
