Elvis Ahorgah has become another boxing sensation who has recently won an enormous fan base due to his rants and showboating before his fights. The Ghanaian boxer who is also known as ‘Soldier’ has rather disappointed many of his fans after promising them glory only to fall in the ring on two occasions.

Elvis Ahorgah And Ebenezer Tetteh who were billed to fight in the United Kingdom both suffered defeats in Birmingham and this continues to indicate the need for Ghana boxers and boxing to take a stand on how to condition and prepare for fights.

Elvis ‘Soldier’ Ahorgah suffered another professional defeat in Birmingham to Tyler Denny in a 10-Round bout on Easter Sunday after his countless rants of how he will end the Brits boxing career after their fight.

Tyler Denny who seemed relaxed during the face-off seemed to be intimidated by the outspoken Ghanaian international who has been nothing but a craft of words. It was a long journey and Denny who has been trying to put his career back in shape needed to use his fist than words to prove it against Ahorgah.

The fight between Denny and Ahorgah was a closed call fight as the two boxers gave their fans and boxing lovers an impressive performance. The two boxers were seen in their moments exhibiting some theatrics and movements in the ring.

The 10-round bout ended with the Ghanaian boxer who has been chasing for a win adding to his lose after a devastating beating by Callum. Social media was flooded with jabs thrown at ‘Soldier’ where many asked him to concentrate on comedy than boxing while others advised him to get into the gym and start training hard as they see some prospects in him.

The streets love Elvis Ahorgah and how he carries himself before and after every boxing match but the most important message he probably isn’t getting is the lose of interest by investors and sponsors when you continue to lose as no one wants to invest in bad business.

Whiles Elvis was receiving his bash, another Ghanaian boxer Ebenezer Tetteh, a former West African Heavyweight Champion was receiving a beating inflicted by Frazer Clarke. The fight against Clarke and Tetteh was another episode of many Ghanaian boxers getting into fights with inadequate preparations. The referee after realising Tetteh was being punished beyond boxing brought the fight to a stop in the first round. Tetteh who was probably lost in action protested against what had seemed a justifiable stoppage by the referee but the deed had already been done.

Just like Joshua Clottey advised, other boxing experts expressed disappointment in the recent performances of Ghanaian boxers in foreign rings whiles declaring themselves boxing Kings in Ghana. Boxers in Ghana have been advised by professionals and former world title champions to sit up and improve their craft before they are classified as jokes.
