As the Vacant WABA Supreme World Female Welterweight Championship draws near, a group of young women from Tanzania convened at the WABA Headquarters to convey their heartfelt wishes to Catherine Mulyata and Mitchell Mubaya for their forthcoming match on April 26 in Lusaka, Zambia’s capital.
In a photograph taken alongside the President of WABA, Hon. Ky Col Onesmo Alfred McBride Ngowi, the group shared their enthusiasm regarding the significant influence these two female champions could have on the boxing community.
Furthermore, Col. Onesmo Alfred McBride Ngowi expressed his appreciation to Col. Dr. Wamunyima Chingumbe, Chairperson of the Zambia Professional Boxing and Wrestling Control Board (ZPBWCB), for the Board’s unwavering support of the inaugural WABA Championship in Zambia.
The WABA organization also acknowledged Mr. Francis Zulu, CEO of Galagata Promotional Brands, for his exemplary leadership in organizing this landmark WABA event.
The atmosphere at WABA Headquarters was vibrant with celebration as preparations were made for the Supreme WABA World Female Championship to be transported to Dar Es Salaam, Tanzania, before proceeding to Lusaka, Zambia, for this historic inaugural tournament.
The roster for the WABA A-Team of five ring officials has been revealed, featuring the esteemed boxing referee Mr. John Shipanuka from Zambia. The team also includes Mr. Francis Gaufu Mwanza, the ZPBWCB Technical Director, who will serve as Supervisor, along with judges Ms. Sisasenkosi Maphosa from Zimbabwe, Ms. Juliet Milole from Malawi, and Mr. Pascal Ndomba from Tanzania.
Excitement is palpable at WABA Headquarters as it engages in various sanctioning activities across the globe.
