The journey that started as being a journalist to capture beautiful moments in events to bring closure to people soon turned into a dream for a great loan soldier to pursue.
Dela Ahiawor, is a loan soldier who took upon himself to champion the course or sustainability in Ghana and continued to expand his wakes through the gates of Africa. The exposure he has brought to the noble profession and how much respect he has commanded is notably the best to talked about.

It is worthy to note that his dedication to his dream did not come overnight but has been built over a decade and still counting, whiles he writing skill and and circle grows like fine wine, Mr. Ahiawor has remained a mentor to many young journalists who have been under his tutorship and others right under his leadership.
In 2018, during the Gold Coast Common wealth Games in Australia, Mr. Ahiawor did not just participate as a journalist who wanted to add to the numbers but brought to his numerous reader details about every inch he visited.

It did not just end in Australia as the ultimate dream was to get to the olympics to climax his journey as an all round journo.
Mr. Ahiawor has been dedicated, present at the Sports Writers’ Association of Ghana (SWAG) awards and always availing himself for duty is one that needs to be studied.
The dream of this ‘Loan Soldier came to fruition during the 2024 Olympic Games which was hosted in France. Mr. Ahiawor was officially accredited as a journalist and the dream became a reality.
His interactions with other media members from the globe and creating networks to expand his circle is one thing but also ensuring this cherished readers get the best from his work is one he doesn’t joke with.
From the lens of his camera and from the window of his flight seat, Mr. Ahiawor started to show his cherished readers the sight of beauty from the sky.


The media accreditation was finally around his neck and the journey to explore on official duty finally began.

With a world cup, Commonwealth Games, and Olympic games all in the bad, it is only right to call him Mr. Olympian. The Loan Soldier whose agenda to create awareness to Green Sport has remained a goal for over a decade and continue to impact his long standing values is worth celebrating.
He is a champion who needs no medals, and a brave Olympian who did not see distance and time as a boundary but the learning and growing process.

The journey to engage many federations and stakeholders in ensuring ‘Green Football’ is accepted doesn’t seem to be dying and the determination of Mr. Ahiavor has been the trademark all journalists are following.
The young, including myself and others who have looked up to him and continue to tap into his knowledge and mentorship from afar.
