The Ghana Referees Association as has been said by many people remains the same with little to no improvement and that has been evidence in some of the results we have seen recently in the Ghana premier league and other leagues.

FIFA and CAF are one of the bodies who have been very particular about which referee officiates at their competitions and this has highlighted that Ghana like many other countries need to put in efforts to ensure their referees are up to speed and also officiate diligently and without bias.

FIFA in the recent release has provided a list of referees to officiate at the FIFA Club World Cup and this is where the education is.

Ghana missed out on having any representation at the FIFA Club world cup which has been extended to accommodate many teams which includes Inter Miami from the USA who will be participating not on merit but because ‘FIFA’s darling boy Messi plays for the club.

Ghana needs to backup and get things together not just to get recognised by FIFA but to create a standard of refereeing that is devoid of bias and plain misconduct.
