Kevin De Bruyne is one player that proved to the world what class he could add to a game at any given time and he has been on of the best marshalling the midfield of the beautiful game called football.
The Belgian whose career started in his home country Genk rapidly made name and was signed to Chelsea in the English Premier League where he played for two seasons until his drift with the former boss Jose Mourinho who thought the Belgian was not fit for his tactics.
KDB in his quest to prove his critics wrong moved on to Werder Bremen on loan and finally signed to VfL Wolfsburg all in the German Bundesliga where he made 52 appearances and scored 13 goals before signing to Manchester City in 2015.
His journey to glory was seen by many when he joined Manchester City and started making waves all over the world. Pep Guardiola who had eyes for the gem utilised the Belgian to his full potential and together they won a couple of laurels. A couple of injuries here and there but Kevin De Bruyne has always been a class act for club and country.
In a twist of events, KDB posted n social media a letter addressed to Manchester and it reads,
“Dear Manchester,
Seeing this, you probably realise where this is heading. So I’ll get straight to it and let you all know that these will be my final months as a Manchester City player.
Nothing about this is easy to write, but as football players, we all know this day eventually comes. That day is here – and you deserve to hear it from me first.
Football led me to all of you – and to this city. Chasing my dream, not knowing this period would change my life. This city, this club, these people game me everything. I had no choice but to give EVERYTHING back! And guess what – we won EVERUTHING.
Whether we like it or not, its time to say goodbye. Suri, Rome, Mason, Michele, and I are beyond grateful for what this place has meant to our family.
“Manchester” will forever be on our kids’ passports – and more importantly, in each of our hearts.
This will always be our HOME.
We cannot thank the city, club, staff, teammates, friends, and family enough for this 10-year ride.
Every story comes to an end, but this has definitely been the best chapter.
Let’s enjoy these last moments together!
Much love.”
The Belgian penning a heartfelt farewell message to fans and teammates although has not hinted on retirement has surely made his intentions clear that after the season, his tike with Manchester City is done for.
With clubs in the gulf countries seeking for his signature, KDB might not be playing for Manchester City but might still be seen on the field in another region.
