The tale of Bayern Munich Women is still a suffering reflection of what the Bayern Munich men have achieved in the German Bundesliga and even on the international front.
The UEFA Women’s Champions league has not been so interesting for Bayern Munich women as they have suffered another humiliating defeat to Lyon women in their second leg tie.
Bayern Women after losing their home tie by 0-2 had just one job to do and that was to secure maximum points against Lyon in their return leg but things were planned different for the Germans.
The game which started calm and looking positive for Bayern women quickly changed to suit the hosts who showed why they took maximum points in their first leg.
Klara Buhl who understood the assignment needed 33 minutes into the game to break the deadlock and needed to improve on that but Lyon women quickly switch from defence to attack.
A minute after the break, Melchie Dumornay remembered her task and shot Bayern in their back with an equaliser.
Kadidiatou Diani and Tabitha Chawinga added the second and third goals for Lyon in the 54th and 60th minute and that startled the visitors who had no idea what was going on.
Bayern Munich known for their possessive play had the opportunity keep the ball but that wasn’t enough as possession without goals in football doesn’t win goals.
While Bayern were thinking of what to do next, Ada Hagerberg added to their spoils to raise the tally of Lyon to 6-1.
Out of the last five (5) games for both teams, Lyon has recorded a clean sweep while Bayern Munich women have managed three (3) out of the last five (5).
