The current and affable President of the Sports Writers’ Association of Ghana, (SWAG) born at Apam in the Central Region of Ghana is a Ghanaian sports journalist who has inspired a lot of young and old to love the game of football through his exhibition of love and passion when it comes to its commentary and analysis.
The writer and commentator has been in the limelight since I realised football was an amazing game after watching him host a sports talk shows, sports highlights on Mondays, weekly sports reviews and live commentary.
Mr. Kwabena Yeboah, the SWAG President and sports personality has made more than just a name for himself but is a living legend when it comes to commentary both home and abroad. His calmness on delivery and how to make you enjoy the game is just one to study and its surprising how many commentator are not learning same.
Just as many make their own wordings when it comes to commentary and sports presenting, the ever green sports journalist and SWAG president is known for the famous ‘Oluwaaaaaa’ expression which has come to stay. This expression is normally used by him when there is a goal in a game he was commentating on and the fans couldn’t stop loving him.
Many media personalities including myself continue to eulogies the writer and continue to learn a lot from him.
With 31yrs as host of a sports show to his belt at GTV, he sure must be celebrated. Not all show hosts get to retain their seats for this long.
A fellow journo wrote,
“Kwabena Yeboah – the writer 31 years as host of GTV Sports Highlights, congratulations Writer.
Thank you for your passion for the sports industry. Your selflessness, compassion, your readiness to impact knowledge.
The Writer, God bless you!!!.”
These are but some of the qualities he brings to the table after a couple of encounters with him during SWAG meetings and his ever ready face to listen and involve everyone.
SWAG is proud of your feat and we wish you more years to impact us with even more.
